Connecting the family over distance

The FUN parent

With Jery being gone , I wanted to do some fun things with Grace and Mark. As my family knows, Mom is the "heavy" and when Grace nd Mark were born I told Jerry it was his turn to be the disciplinarian parent and I was going to be the nice FUN parent. ( No comment from the big 4 ).. So after a fun day shopping and going to a candy store( The larder), and SPCA, and Care and Share store etc. I jokingly said ," so, am I the fun parent?" Mark said ,"No, Glory is !!!!" I've been up staged again…. sigh nancy

Our wedding video

For our one year wedding anniversary, I made a nice DVD of our wedding for Dana. A guy from my father-in-law’s church who shoots and edits TV commercials for a living was gonna do the whole thing for us for free, but a year later here we are and it doesn’t look like he’s going to get around to doing it. So, I got my hands on the raw video footage and did the best I could with what I had. Unfortunately, the audio is poor at parts, but it still helps remind us of what actually happened on that day. It all went so fast.

Noah is born!

Well I just wanted to write a quick note here and let everyone know Adrienne had her baby! Little Noah Scott Schmoyer is doing great and Adrienne is too, especially now that we are both at home, there is at least potential for sleep here, not the case at the hospital! Hope everyone is doing well and check out the pictures of the little guy at www.davidschmoyer.com

Glory’s New Job

Glory has a new job in Lynchburg and this was in the newsletter for the group she is now teaching for:

"Kristy and I have been wading through countless resumes for the last several weeks. AKKK Painful. Then all of a sudden some little girl shows up on our door step (literally) with her glowing resume saying that she would be available to join the team. Of course I know this was just too good to be true but I've always been taught by my mamma that I should give the person the benefit of time. Sooo we auditioned her. All I can say is  . . . Glory Hallelujah. (I know, I'll get it for that one).
Ladies and gentlemen please welcome to our team Ms. Glory Schmoyer. It was all I could do to keep from falling of my keyboard stool and hiding my grin from ear to flappy ear when I heard her sing.  Awesome. She is incredible at piano as well and she can teach flue.  I'm beside myself. She has studied Jazz piano up north for a time until she realized that her true calling was here in Lynchburg. Took her long enough! Well that's ok we all need to go out from time to time when we are young to see that the grass is not always greener. (Unless of course you water it.)."  Luis Mendez,  Owner/ Head InstructorMendez Academy of Music

Vacation

Dear Dana,Maggie,Adrienne,Glory

We want you all to know HOW SPECIAL you made us feel this past trip. I was truly not expecting so much time, attention and effort on ALL your parts to make us feel so welcome, The food was great and I realized how much I enjoy NOT COOKING !!! The break was wonderful all by itself !! All your girls are much better cooks than I am. I do enjoy cooking but it seems like there hasn't been TIME to do a nice job since Tim was born !! Now it's just fast and efiicent , with not too much fat. . All your homes looked homey, inviting and attractive. All of you are light years ahead of where we were our first couple of years married. . My boys have been so blessed with material things as well as Godly, attractive, smart, capable wives. !!! I know all of you will be great moms too.

Dana and Tim- I again want to say how honord I felt using your "red "dish for the first time. You really elevated Mother's Day  to a new tier for me this year. It was great seeing Tim "LOVE" on you. It melts my heart !! Your views are breath taking and I loved sleeping up in the tower !!

Maggie and Dan- We ARE SO PROUD OF YOU - SEEING HOW YOU WORK TOGETHER  PULLING EVERYONE TOGETHER AND HOW WELL  you parent little Ruby, She is sooo adorable.  Dad really enjoyed watching you at work too. I especially LOVE that park and little "Promise Land " beach. I'd be there ALL summer !!

David and Adrienne - We felt so at home and know it was extra hard on you  being so pregnant. Dad really appreciated the time you took helping him learn his PDA. He said it would have taken him hours to learn it from  trial and error.  I want that recipe for the salad again. I seemed to have lost it in the trip. -

Glory - No body is MORE excited and Proud than us of YOU !! It was almost unbelieveble that it's over.Your place was really comfy amd I KNOW you worked like a crazy person unpacking before we got there. You looked so scholarly in your graduation gown !!!  The start of a new and better chapter in your life. Looking brighter every day !!!

Gonna get to sleep. Planning a return trip in the fall, before MN snow. Really want to stop in St Louis with the next trip. Pray it in !!! God has really out done Himself in ALL of you  Love mom and Dad
