Connecting the family over distance

weather!

I was just outside with ruby and it is sooooo nice out!!! the high is 59 here today so hopefully all the snow will be gone soon so we can actually start doing things outside more!

Ruby is doing very well. she is starting to really develop a personality and communicate it to others around her! Smile she is very independent when it comes to trying new things BUT she is not independent when it comes to playing by herself. she is in for a nice shock when the new baby comes and she has to play alone for stretches at a time! she loves to be outside, especially since we have a lot of dogs around our house. she watches the cars go by, listens for airplanes, dogs, and birds, and is very interested in helping you do whatever it is you are doing (whether she is actually able to help or not). her vocabulary has really picked up since christmas and she is starting to put words together and say short phrases. there aren't many things she does not have a word for (even if its the wrong word, it is still ID'd).

i will post some new pics of our house and such pretty soon so you can all have an idea of what the new paint jobs look like inside and what our new furniture looks like.

have a great day! talk to you all later!

dan

ps… mark, i am currently watching your bball tapes! not to bad for  little guy!! Tongue out

La La La

welp i'm at work now and things here are at the time of night were it's slow enough to sit down and check email etc. Some nights I don't sit down at all and others I have some time, so this is a good night tonight….so far. Nothing much is goin on here in Plymouth MN, I have most of next week off from work which is good cuz this weekend I put in over 40 hours of work with 11 hours of sleep. not a good combo.

Adrienne went to petsmart today and got grizzly a new harness cuz his was way to little. . . . . actually let me rephrase that. . . . . grizzly has become a BEAST! that fat 7lbs boy has the smallest little butt and the biggest upper body ever! i'll have to post some pictures to embarrass him. He has been talked to about his weight and between having Timber as a (psycho) trainer and his new low fat diet he's been on he should loose the weight in time for bikini season. :-) He hates his new low fat food and makes sure we know by dumping it out and carrying the bowl around the house looking for his old food. haha. That little turd needs a yard to run around it and get back in shape, which he'll have in about 6 months if all goes according to plan. If anyone wants to look at a map we are looking for Houses in albertville and st michael, which are close to each other.

Bedsides the dogs info the weather has been great! windows down driving and snow malting look like it's rained but is really nice to walk around. I hear it should be 56 degrees tomorrow! We are planning on going up to visit and see Tim and Dana's new place this sunday for sure and maybe a day before that too. That should be fun. With the nice weather I think we are gonna try and go to the zoo too, and maybe watch the new movie "300", which looks like it's kinda like the story of Gideon in the bible except this story probably don't have much to do about God.

Welp there's a little snapshot of whats been going on here, and pardon the spelling and grammar cuz i'm tired and it's late (for me)……..and i'm just a bad speller in general :-)

Thanks for coming!

Dan, Maggie, and Ruby, we had a great day today with y'all visiting. We're looking forward to the next time you can come. We'll have to rest up first, after walking up the hill so many times. I'm exhausted right now and know y'all have to be even more so with driving too. I just finished putting the pictures on the family site from today. Now I believe it is bed time! Don't forget to set your clocks ahead tonight!

We can't wait to have the rest of you come up to visit and see our home too!

Mark’s Basketball

Mark's team won their playoff game today, 43-20.  It was close until the 4th quarter when Mark make several layups in a row.  He had 26 points and 26 rebounds.  The coach is good about having all players play equal amounts of time and the emphasis is on passing and having everyone handle the ball and try to score.  Mark is among the tallest in the league and that helps him.  That won't always be the case, though!  What is nicest of all is that the coaches and fathers and everyone has some much good to say about Mark, even opposing coaches.  What's best is that they always say what a fine person Mark is before saying what a good player he is.  They always comment on his being polite and gentle, a very nice boy in how he plays.  The coach they will be facing in the next round (semifinals) stayed to scout and had lots of good things to say about Mark.  He offered me the use of his condo in Florida for free next weekend, and even said he'd pay for our flight there and back, if we went and took Mark!  He really wants to win but knows Mark is the one in their way.  He's a very competitive coach and heads up the league. Mark's team beat their team quite badly during the season.  Mark is definitely the best rebounder in the league and probably the top scorer as well.  There is one team that somehow got most of the travel team players on it and that beats everyone by 20 or 30 points or more.  The other teams are very equal.  What makes that team good is not an outstanding player but good players at all positions.  That's who they'll play if they win the next playoff and get into the finals.  The 'down' side for me is that I'll be in Lancaster leading a marriage retreat next weekend and will miss the playoff Friday evening, finals Saturday morning and then the All-Star game which Mark will be in following the championship game.  I really, really hate to miss but this retreat was scheduled more than a year ago.  Pray for Mark, that he will be safe and not injured this week.  He's been jamming fingers and spraining his ankle a lot.  Pray he'll do his best and be a good sport and example no matter what.  That is my main prayer for him - how he handles things.  That's more important than winning.  I want you to know you can be proud of him.  Glory will watch him play for she'll be here to take him to the games.  I send DVD's of 2 games to Dan for the rest of you in Minneapolis to watch.  God bless and thanks for being such a good example for mark - that greatly contributes to making him who and what he is.  Love,  Dad/Jerry
