Shout out from Cat Spring!
Hi everyone, just wanted to update ya’ll on how life in the country is…so far so good! We love out little house, its very cute, it reminds me of Dan & Maggie’s apartment in PA, in the woods and stuff. (Only the weather is slightly different.) Camp is over and adult retreats have started, our first retreat was last weekend and it went very well for us being a little unprepared. The staff left on Wednesday and the retreat came early on Friday therefore making Thursday a very busy day for both Mary Ellen & myself…not to mention David who we wrangled into helping us out by pressure washing the pool. This week has been relaxing, I am learning the details on the retreats such as contracts and pricing, and we don’t have a retreat this weekend which is probably God’s blessing in disguise because it gives us a little more time to prepare and make sure the facilities are in tip top condition. David is still working in the ER and trying to figure out schooling options. Grizzly is doing well, besides the fleas that come all too often…a direct result from living in the woods, but nonetheless he loves country life as far as we can tell. He told me the other day that he would really like a little brother, but Dad said NO WAY!! Bummer, I guess we will just have to settle for the one yorkie…for now that is…hehe!
David just recently found out that he has been scheduled to work BOTH Christmas day and Thanksgiving day, so that is total bummer for us and it looks like traveling is out of the question this year…hopefully we will be able to see you all some other non-holiday time this year. Hope all is well with everyone, we love and miss you guys!
Since you brought up holidays, we’d MUCH rather have you guys all come for a longer visit and have to miss a holiday than a shorter visit that includes a holiday. Travel is easier away from the busy times as well. Any time Nov or Dec is fine, so is the week after Christmas, first week of January, etc. I don’t know about the India dates for January yet and probably won’t until October or so. No hurry to decide, just wanted to let you know our thoughts. Love, Dad/Jerry
